How Smooth Infusion Works
The entire line is built on two plant-derived technologies that appear in every formula. Understanding them helps explain why the products work better as a system than individually.
Plant polymer shield. This 99% naturally derived polymer wraps each hair strand in an invisible layer that physically repels water molecules. The heat seals the plant polymer shield into place, creating a smooth, sleek finish with 72-hour anti-frizz protection — plus heat protection up to 450°F and UV filters for sun defense. Perfectly Sleek — For Curly and Coily Hair (3A–4C)
A heat-activated styling cream designed specifically for naturally curly and coily textures. It transforms textured hair into smooth, sleek styles during a blow-dry or silk press — without permanently altering the curl pattern. The formula adds murumuru butter to the standard Smooth Infusion technology, replenishing moisture and restoring elasticity to highly textured hair during heat styling. It also protects from breakage caused by combing and heat up to 450°F. Once the heat is removed and hair is washed, your natural curl pattern returns fully intact.

Which Smooth Infusion Products Do You Need?
You don't necessarily need all five. Here's how our stylists at Coppell, Allen, and Highland Village recommend building your routine based on hair type and styling method.
Fine to medium hair, blow-dry styling: Shampoo + Conditioner + Perfect Blow Dry. Skip the Style-Prep Smoother on fine hair to avoid over-conditioning — the spray alone provides enough protection and smoothing.
Medium to thick hair, blow-dry styling: Shampoo + Conditioner + Style-Prep Smoother + Perfect Blow Dry. The leave-in serum adds an extra layer of detangling and heat protection that thicker hair benefits from. You can also finish with a drop of Miraculous Oil for added shine.
Curly or coily hair, silk press or blowout: Shampoo + Conditioner + Perfectly Sleek. The cream's murumuru butter provides the extra conditioning that textured hair needs during heat styling. For a silk press, apply to sections and flat iron to activate.
Any hair type, air-dry styling: Shampoo + Conditioner + Style-Prep Smoother. The leave-in serum is the only Step 3 product that doesn't require heat activation, making it the right choice when you're skipping the blow-dryer. Pair with Nutriplenish foam for soft hold and frizz control on air-dried styles.

Can I use Perfect Blow Dry and Perfectly Sleek together?
They're designed for different textures, so you typically choose one. Perfect Blow Dry is a spray for straight, wavy, and curly hair. Perfectly Sleek is a cream for curly and coily hair. If you have mixed textures, ask your stylist at any Tangerine location for a custom approach.
Will Smooth Infusion weigh down fine hair?
The shampoo and conditioner are formulated for medium to thick hair, but fine-haired guests can use them by adjusting the amount — less product, more water. For the Step 3 stylers, Perfect Blow Dry spray is the lightest option and works well on fine hair. Pair with Phomollient foam at the roots if you need extra volume.
Is Smooth Infusion the same as a keratin treatment?
No. Keratin treatments chemically alter the hair's internal structure and typically last weeks to months. Smooth Infusion works on the surface — the plant polymer shield wraps around each strand without changing its structure. The effect washes out completely with your next shampoo.
